Madeline Malia

Real Chemistry
Practice Leader
Madeline Malia is a communications strategist with more than 15 years of experience including in-house and agency leadership positions, with expertise in effective and efficient healthcare communications on behalf of industry, advocacy groups, and professional organizations. Madeline’s experience runs the gamut of integrated healthcare communications programming from early drug development to data milestones and new drug approvals; to unbranded leadership and disease education campaigns; to employee and executive engagement; and change management.

In 2018, Madeline joined Real Chemistry after more than six years as an independent consultant following her in-house career.

Prior to joining Real Chemistry, Madeline led corporate, product communications and advocacy relations at Allos Therapeutics communications, as well as the global oncology franchises at both Bristol-Myers Squibb and Sanofi where she worked with the leadership team to establish Sanofi Oncology as a stand-alone business unit. As the lead for such vast franchises, Madeline set communications strategy and ensured tactical execution of the Company’s vision and business goals across stakeholder audiences including employees. As a consultant, Madeline worked with numerous companies on their corporate and product communications – including Otsuka, where she worked with the executive leadership and lead the company-wide internal and external communications around the acquisition of Abilify from Bristol-Myers Squibb.

Madeline holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, with an emphasis in Healthcare Communications, from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Madeline was born and raised in California and has reluctantly settled into East Coast life and winters. She has a love-hate relationship with running and enjoys spending as much time as possible with her family at the beach or hiking.
